Getting Started

Create a New Facebook Application

  • Go to the Facebook Developer Application and click the Set Up New Application button at the top right of the page.

Naming Your New Facebook App

  • Enter the name of your game in the box and select 'Agree'. Please add "with J2Play" to the end of your game name.
  • Click 'Save Changes' to continue.

Entering Your Callback URL

  • Copy and Paste your Facebook Callback URL from the J2Play Game Management Console into the Callback URL Field.
  • Next, enter a compelling description for your game.

Adding Your Icons

  • Click the 'Change your icon' link and upload your 16x16 game icon.
  • Click 'Change your logo' and upload your 75x75 game logo.

Adding Your Contact Info

  • Enter your contact email address in both the 'Developer Contact' and 'User Support' fields.

Naming Your Canvas Page URL

  • Click 'Canvas' on the left side of the page.
  • Enter a name for your Canvas Page URL.
  • Click 'Save Changes' to Continue.

Adding Your New Facebook Application to J2Play

  • Copy and paste the API Key and Application Secret key from your new application into the J2Play Management Console.
  • Also copy the Canvas URL from your new application into the Management Console.
  • Save your changes in the Management Console, and you're good to go!

Publishing Your Application on Facebook

  • When your App is ready, you can submit it to Facebook for Review.

Congratulations!

  • You are now set up on Facebook!

Optional: Setting up an About Page

  • Click the 'Edit About Page Link' to the right of the page.

Application Information

  • Click the 'Edit' link in the 'Application Information' box.
  • Enter a description for your game, choose a category, and fill out the developer information.
  • Click 'Submit' when finished.

Application Photo

  • Choose a photo to use as your 'About Page' picture.
  • Agree to the TOS and click 'Upload Picture'.

Congratulations!

  • You now have a finished 'About Page'!
