Add Game to J2Play Management Console

This step outlines how to quickly add your game to the J2Play Management Console which will add the J2Play Social Wrapper to your game without any additional code. The social wrapper adds 7 social features automatically to your game: chat, profiles, ratings, comments, friends list, notifications, and invites. There are 3 simple steps you need to follow: create a J2Play developer account, add your game to the J2Play Management Console, and follow the instructions to setup your game on at least one social networking site (e.g., Facebook, Orkut, etc.) for testing purposes. These steps are outlined in detail below.

Step 1: Sign-Up for a J2Play Developer Account
- Log in to or create your J2Play developer account.
- This account gives you access to this wiki as well as the J2Play Management Console.
Step 2: Add your game to the J2Play Management Console
Follow the instructions bellow to add your game to the J2Play Management Console. You can edit and change the details below at any time.
1. Navigate to the J2Play Management Console.
2. Click Add Game to start adding your game.
3. Enter the following information about your game:
- Game URL: the location where the .swf of your game is hosted (i.e. www.mygamesite.com/mygame.swf )
- Note that the j2playlib.swf, game.properties, and j2play.properties files are needed at runtime and will also need to be at the same location as the game .swf file.
- J2Play offers free game hosting! Contact J2Play Developer Support for details.
- Title: Title of the game
- Description: A Quick Description of the game
- Summary: A one line summary of the game
- Size: The size of the game. If the size is too big to be displayed then the game will be scaled
- Platform: Specify were this game is played
- Type: The technology the game uses
- Integrated Features: Enable features on the system you have modified your game to support
- Logo: The main 50x50 Icon for the game
- Logo(wide): A 120x60 image to be displayed on networks which use the wide format
- Icon: 16x16 mini icon for the game
- Screenshot: A screenshot of the game to display on the about page of your application
- Genre: Select the genre of your game
4. When all of the required fields are filled, and click Save.
Step 3: Add your game to a Social Network
After finishing step 2 above, the quick J2Play integration is completed and you can now add your game to any social networking site and see it in action with the J2Play Social Wrapper. This step outlines how to add your game to the social networking site of your choice.
1. Navigate to the J2Play Management Console.
2. Find the entry for the game you added in step 2.
3. Click edit beside that entry.
4. Click the Network tab.
5. Enable the network of your choice and follow the linked instructions below.
